Hello, I’m Christian.

I am a quantitative ecologist working with tree-rings and dynamic vegetation models, leading a research group at the Technical University of Munich in the context of the Bavarian Network for Climate Research (Bayklif).

My current research foci are climatic extremes and the corresponding vegetation responses, embedded in the contexts of forest productivity, vegetation dynamics, and climate monitoring. I mainly employ tree-ring proxies, but also work with other terrestrial carbon proxies and biological indicators. I pursue inter- and transdisciplinary research and I am a committed contributor to methodological development in the field of dendroecology.
